Hey come on, the story has moved on. The attention was gained and the point was made – wake up world to the human rights abuses in China – press the Chinese governmnt to ratify the Human Rights Convention, release some dissidents as an act of good will – but that was yesterday, although it is clearly rumbling on around the world at a furious pace! The story today is that the gadfly is alive and well in China and evading the authorities until, after the end of the Games, he gives himself up publicly. This is an ongoing protest and the gadly continues to send out messages from China. This modern day Scarlet Pimpernel is out there causing a stir in people’s minds while seeking not to disrupt the Games in any way. All over the world, papers, TV, radio, websites and blogs are coninuing to watch the ongoing saga of the Gadfly Phenomena. It is also being watched by support churches in the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Chile. China, you have a lot of people watching you, and for far more than the Games.
